24. Real events

You may be surprised to learn that Pocahontas is the only female Disney protagonist based on a real-life person. In a somewhat less romantic sequence of events, the real Pocahontas was captured in 1613 and forced to convert to Christianity in order to marry, later having children. Mulan is also believed to have been real, though the little we know of her comes from an ancient poem.
