Intouchables, known in English as Untouchable, is a 2011 French film. The film was directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano. Only nine weeks following its release in French cinemas, on 2nd November 2011, the film became the second most successful French film of all time for the number of viewers (19 million) following Bienvenue chez les Ch´tis de 2008 (with 20.5 million). The story is inspired by the life of the count Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, author of the book ´Le Second soufflé´ by Bayard Éditions, who has been tetraplegic since 1993 due to a paragliding accident. The film details his relationship with Abdel Yasmin Sellou, an immigrant with a criminal background who starts working as a home health aid.
