The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is the third film in the cinema trilogy of The Lord of the Rings, directed by Peter Jackson and based on the third book in the J. R. R. Tolkien series, The Lord of the Ring. It had a budget of 94 million dollars and was filmed from 11th October 1999 to 22nd December 2000. In the film, we discover the final part of the journey taken by the Fellowship of the Ring to save the Middle-earth from darkness. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is considered one of the greatest and most successful films in the history of cinema. On 29th February 2004, during the Oscar award ceremony, The Return of the King won all eleven Oscars for which it had been nominated, making it one of only three films to have won all nominations (the others are Gigi and The Last Emperor). This lead it to become one of the most awarded films in history. The film got the same number of prizes as Titanic and Ben-Hur.
