Modern Times is a 1936 film written and directed by Charlie Chaplin, who also stars in the main role. This film is a reflection of the desperate conditions suffered by the working class throughout the Great Depression. The film also features Paulette Goddard, Henry Bergman, Stanley Sandford and Chester Conklin. It’s the first Charlie Chaplin film in which we can hear his voice singing.
