3 – The Godfather Part II – 1974

The Godfather Part II is a US crime-drama film from 1974. It was directed by Francis Ford Coppola as a continuation of the first film The Godfather, and is the second part in the trilogy. It is considered the best sequel of all times and one of the few second parts of a film that manage to rival their predecessor. The writer Mario Puzo was once again the scriptwriter working with the director and this time deals with the childhood and growing up of Vito Corleone. At the same time, the film shows the obligations of Michael as the new head of the family. Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, John Cazale, Talia Shire and Robert Duvall return in the same roles as The Godfather, with Robert De Niro, Lee Strasberg, Bruno Kirby, John Aprea, Frank Sivero, G.D. Spradlin, and Michael V. The film received universal acclamation from critics and some consider it to be better quality than the first part.
