2 – Tuvalu

Tuvalu is a Polynesian archipelago made up of nine atolls and is located in the Pacific ocean, to the east of Papua New Guinea. The capital is Funafuti. Living conditions are hard in Tuvalu because of a lack of clean water, making farming difficult too. Another thing that doesn’t help attract tourism is the rising waters, which are expected to submerge the country and will make inhabitants among the first climate refugees. It receives around 1000 visitors per year, though the country is making efforts to attract more.
