The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is an adventure and fantasy film from 2000, directed by Peter Jackson and based on the first volume of J. R. R Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. It’s the first part of the three part series The Lord of the Rings, which also includes The Two Towers and The Return of the King. All of the films are adaptations of the fantasy trilogy. The film follows the story of the Dark Lord Sauron and his quest for the One Ring, which is in the hands of the hobbit Frodo Baggins. The fate of the Middle-earth is at stake whilst Frodo and eight companions forming the Fellowship of the Ring begin a long and perilous journey to Mount Doom in the land of Mordor, the only place where the ring can be destroyed.
