10 – Hissarlik

Located in Türkiye, this archaeological landmark is one of the earliest evidence of the existence of the city of Troy. Only mentioned in Homer’s Iliad, until the 19th century it was thought that this coastal city was only fictional but after excavations it can be confirmed that it exists in reality. The excavations continued until the 20th century and through it, Troy was dated back to the Bronze Age.
