7 – Cure for type 1 diabetes

In type 1 diabetes, the immune system destroys part of the pancreas that produces insulin. Insulin was discovered 100 years ago and since then it has been used as an injection to treat illnesses. But finally, scientists have discovered the possibility of recreating part of the damaged pancreas using stem cells. It will be the end of those daily injections for a large number of patients.
