11 – Clownfish Like Nemo in ‘Finding Nemo’ Do Live in Sea Anemones
Share
Early in Finding Nemo (2003), Nemo and Marlin the clownfish are shown living in their home, a sea anemone. This mirrors the symbiotic relationship between clownfish and sea anemones. Sea anemones are covered in small stingers called nematocysts, which ward off most other fish except for clownfish, which are protected by a thick layer of mucus. In return for a home, clownfish clear sea anemones of waste.
