7 – Dmanisi

This small town situated in Georgia became the site where one of the most important archaeological discoveries regarding human evolution was made. These skeletons, believed to be from the first people to migrate out of Africa, were the connection between pre-species Homo erectus and modern Homo sapiens. Made in 2014, this discovery opened many new doors when it came to research and understanding in the fields of Anthropology and Evolution.
